(and I have the best fiancée ever!)
| So I know that I am a slacker for not posting sooner, but oh well. There have actually been a lot of exciting happenings here. First of all, it has been great to be back in the country. God taught me so much over in France and has continued to, so I don't regret a bit of it. But it is still nice to be back. Not to mention the fact that being around the amazing Mary Beth has been wonderful! God is also teaching me a lot about thankfulness ;).
The most recent exciting thing is the new job! I just started yesterday at a job full time that I will have when I finish school in December! Yee-haw! I am actually updating on my lunch break right now... because I have lunch breaks... because I work :). This will make for a busy last semester, though...
And there is one more exciting thing that is coming up... God is faithful, no doubt... Mabes and I will be celebrating 1 year and 2 months in two days. Praise the Lord, because He has been wonderful to us!
I better finish my lunch now... and get back to work!
| Whew...
I'm home safe and sound! Thanks for all or your prayers and thoughtfulness about this trip, everyone! It really was fabulous. I am, no doubt, thrilled to be hope, though, and it was nice to sleepin my own bed last night.
After I left Grenoble I wne t down to Nice for a couple of days and chilled out and visited Eze (a little town east of Nice). I then took a train to Paris to catch my flight and finally arrived home somewhere around 36 hours later!
I think I learned the most about myself and the French culture on this trip... I did learn a lot language wise, and I am thankful for that, but that was not where I think I grew the most. The general idea is that the French society is one that is not too different from America... after all, it's a Western society, right? Culturally, the French are completely different from other Western societies. Especially relationally. I'm still trying to sort out how all of this fits together... but it was eye-openeing.
| Bonjour tout le monde!
I finished my classes and passed!
YES!
I'm not sure if I will have internet access for the rest of my trip, so this may be my last update before coming home. (Speaking of which, I may or may not be extremely excited about that!!!) The classes ended up alright and the time with the family has been fun. We are having a nice dinner all together tonight. Other than the fact that it has been hotter than blue blazes over here, it has been very nice.
My next step is Nice, which is on the Mediterranean... kinda looking forward to it because I've never seen it before!
See you all soon, I hope!
